This year’s Members’ Forum will be held from 25 June – 29 June 2023 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. As an Institute we are very much looking forward to engaging with our global members, sharing best practice and exchanging ideas and opinions to help shape the future of the Institute.

Members’ Forum in 2022 took place in Sydney, Australia; this was the first time that Members’ Forum was held in Oceania. The week included some really informative sessions including a ‘Building Safety Compliance & Quality’ Panel Discussion including David Chandler, the New South Wales Building Commissioner. The delegation also visited the University of Wester Sydney for a Sustainability Debate hosted by CIOB’s new Vice President, Mike Kagioglou, Pro-Vice Chancellor Global Development at the University. Other sessions focused on key topics including ethics in construction, CIOB’s Corporate Plan and EDI in construction.

We have to note that the Institute is a global organisation and travelling is an essential part of that engagement. The decision for the location of the Members’ Forum lies with the Board of Trustees.

Discussions continue with both the Finance & Risk Committee and the Board of Trustees in relation to the purpose and need for Members’ Forum and to ensure we reduce the environmental impact and costs where possible. Only essential staff will travel that are responsible for the running of the event or delivering key areas of content. We will also be recording or live-streaming events where possible, if members would like to join virtually.
